I. The good news for the humble (Luke 3:1-6).

II.The bad news for the proud who are self-secured (Luke 3:7-9).

III. The good fruit of true repentance  (Luke 3:10-14).

Hear the good news and truly repent

1. Be discerning, 2. the truly repentant place their hope outside of themselves 3. and find it in the God whom they personally love 4. revealed in scripture. 5. The fruit of true repentance is the overflow of God’s comfort, love and mercy to others.

1. Be discerning.

2. Be humbled and broken.

3. Be comforted by God.

4. Be lead by the Word.

5. Be lovingly selfless.
